“I tend not to pay attention to what day it is,” he mumbled, looking down at his hands. “I’m enjoying it. Meeting quite a few interesting people, got to see a beautiful collection, living it up in a new town. It’s fun!”
“Oh don’t worry about it. I rarely do either.” She softly tapped his hand, “I’ll get us some tea, I’ll be back in a minute.” She headed to the counter of the cafe and quickly returned with two cups of tea. “So you like living it up around here?”
He beamed as she returned with tea and took a grateful sip. “Of course, there’s all sorts of crazy people around here. I had a guy earlier tell me he was from a different planet. What’s not to like?”
“For all you know, he could have been. Not everyone is as they seem.” She knowingly nodded and sipped her tea. “It’s too bad I have to go back in a week, this place really is great.”
“Another planet, though? Maybe a different country, but another planet?” He raised an eyebrow and tried not to laugh.
“Now don’t go calling me insane, Don, but have you heard of Time Lords before?” She raised an eyebrow in return and sipped her tea.
He stared at her for a long moment before slowly taking a drink. “You’ve met him too, then? The man with my face?”
“Oh yes, many other versions of him, and others too. Though, no offense, I think you have his face.” She playfully smiled.
He pouted and poked his cheekbone. “No way, this face is all mine. Face-thief may be older than me, but it’s my face.”
“It doesn’t mean what you want to believe is a fact, though. And are we honestly still discussing who the face, the two...
“That’s precisely what I want to believe, as a matter of fact.”
